Baseball Recap: Hartford Wins Going Away Against Cassopolis

Hartford won the last time they faced Cassopolis and things went their way on Thursday too. The Huskies blew past the Rangers 14-1. Considering the Huskies have won eight contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Josh Dyson was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Hartford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Hartford has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Cassopolis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Hartford will have a chance to go back-to-back against Cassopolis: the pair will be back at it again later today.
