Gary Merrill Crosses Big Stat Threshold

On Friday, St. Anthony got the W thanks in part to Gary Merrill playing the best football he has all season. Merrill rushed for 217 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (114.7) per game. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2023.

On the season, Merrill has thrown 14 touchdowns while averaging 178.3 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he had nine passing touchdowns.

Iona Prep picked up their fourth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Julian Guzman. Cardinal Hayes had no answer to Guzman as he rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 207 yards and a touchdown.

Guzman and Iona Prep will challenge Kellenberg Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Guzman will face off against Jack Durso, the Firebirds' star QB. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.

Chaminade Wins Fourth-Straight Thanks to Tim Murphy

Tim Murphy was instrumental in extending Chaminade's winning streak to four on Saturday. Murphy did his part (and then some), throwing for 74 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground for the 'W'.

Murphy and Chaminade will play host again on Sunday to welcome Cardinal Hayes, where kickoff is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Murphy will face off against Rich Belin, the Cardinals' star quarterback. So who wins this QB-duel? There's only one way to know for sure.

Anthony Trapani Delivers Best Effort of Season

Anthony Trapani produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Chaminade to the win on Saturday. Trapani wasn't messing around, picking up a sack and making 13 total tackles. The matchup was his sixth straight with five or more total tackles.

On the season, Trapani has averaged 8 total tackles per game and for the season has 2 sacks.
