Baseball Recap: Cashton Comes Up Short

If Cashton was feeling good fresh off their 15-3 takedown of Necedah on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Wauzeka-Steuben Hornets by a score of 5-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 14th.

Cashton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Wauzeka-Steuben, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-13.

Looking ahead, Cashton will challenge New Lisbon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.54 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wauzeka-Steuben, they will head out to challenge Kickapoo at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
