Volleyball Recap: Janae Dominguez Key Part of Team Effort in Wildcats Win

Questa barely beat Escalante the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Lobos with a sharp 3-0 victory on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Questa was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-13, 25-18.

Questa's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Janae Dominguez led the charge by getting seven digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave Dominguez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyne Ortega, who had 14 digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Questa was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Questa's record now sits at 15-4. As for Escalante, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Questa will square off against rival Mora at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Escalante is set to face off against their familiar foe Mesa Vista at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
