West Central came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Vermillion Tanagers by a score of 4-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-4 back in May.

West Central pushed their record up to 23-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Vermillion, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

West Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-4 win against Dell Rapids on the 6th. As for Vermillion, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Sioux Valley on the 6th.
