Football Recap: De La Salle Comes Up Short

De La Salle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 48-14 loss at the hands of the Marmion Cadets. The Meteors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-8.

De La Salle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Marmion, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

De La Salle and Marmion could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Meteors (ranked 333rd) will meet Fenwick (ranked 14th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Marmion will square off against Montini Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (153 vs. 16).
