Basketball Recap: Brooks Takes Down King in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Brooks had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 53-46 victory over the King Jaguars. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly seven points.

Despite the loss, King saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Corey Wellere went 6-for-9 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Tyshaun McPherson, who posted ten points and eight rebounds.

Brooks has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for King, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 14-8.

Brooks didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-48 win against Morgan Park on the 15th. As for King, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Jaguars duke it out with the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on February 20th.
