Volleyball Game Preview: Ukiah Wildcats vs. Cardinal Newman Cardinals

Ukiah hasn't had much luck against Cardinal Newman recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will challenge the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Ukiah lost 3-0 to Sonoma Valley on Thursday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-13, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Newman didn't have quite enough to beat Sonoma Valley last Thursday and fell 3-2.

Cardinal Newman actually scored more points across those five sets (95-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 11-25, 18-25, 15-11.

Ukiah's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Cardinal Newman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Ukiah couldn't quite get it done against Cardinal Newman when the teams last played back in March as they fell 3-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
