Baseball Recap: Basha Victorious

Basha had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 10-13-1 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chandler Wolves, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since April 8, 2024.

David Richter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Parker Anderson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. He has become a key player for Basha: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-13-1 otherwise. Trevion Jones was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

As for Chandler, they now have a losing record of 11-12-1. They haven't had much luck with Basha recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

On Chandler's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brian Romero, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Looking ahead, Basha will be playing in front of their home fans against Perry at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pumas have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Chandler, they are taking a road trip to take on Hamilton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight.
