Basketball Game Preview: Eau Claire Shamrocks vs. North Eagles

The Eau Claire Shamrocks will challenge the North Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Eau Claire is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

While Eau Claire didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 48-38 win over American Leadership Academy on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North). They were the clear victor by an 87-65 margin over Calhoun County on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Eagles have posted since February 8th.

Eau Claire better keep an eye on Stetson Stacks. He was instrumental in North's win, going 12 for 18 on his way to 31 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Stacks is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleil Way, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

North was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

North's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-3. As for Eau Claire, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Eau Claire strolled past North when the teams last played last Wednesday by a score of 63-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eau Claire since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
