Softball Game Preview: Broome Centurions vs. South Pointe Stallions

The Broome Centurions are taking a road trip to face off against the South Pointe Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Pointe took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Broome, who comes in off a win.

Broome is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since March 19th on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Chapman 4-3. The game was the first time the Centurions have beaten the Panthers on their field since April 26, 2022.

Meanwhile, South Pointe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Northwestern, falling 15-0.

Broome's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-18. As for South Pointe, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.

Broome came out on top in a nail-biter against South Pointe in their previous matchup back in April of 2016, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Centurions repeat their success, or do the Stallions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
