Softball Recap: Pelahatchie Takes a Loss

Pelahatchie entered their game against Morton on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Chiefs came up short against the Panthers, falling 15-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chiefs of the 16-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Khloe McLaurin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Pelahatchie and nudges their season record down to 9-3. As for Morton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.

Pelahatchie didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-0 defeat against Puckett on the 1st. As for Morton, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against Yazoo County on the 28th.
