Basketball Recap: Walnut Grove Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

On Tuesday, the Walnut Grove Wildcats earned a 71-64 win over the Denison Yellow Jackets.

Walnut Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Parker Evanson, who went 6 of 10 en route to 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Evanson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Byron Scott, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists.

Walnut Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. As for Denison, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-5.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Walnut Grove Wildcats duke it out with the Greenville Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Walnut Grove's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Greenville has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for Denison, they will square off against Lovejoy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lovejoy will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Denison surely won't give up without a fight.
