Basketball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson lost against Wahlert back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Jefferson Hawks came up short against the Wahlert Golden Eagles, falling 55-30. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 11th).

Jefferson dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Wahlert, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Jefferson will head out to face off against Marshalltown at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Jefferson is facing Marshalltown at the right time seeing as Marshalltown is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Wahlert, they will welcome Iowa City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
