Basketball Recap: Covenant Christian Takes a Loss

Covenant Christian lost against Calvary Baptist back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Covenant Christian Cougars took a 69-54 bruising from the Calvary Baptist Eagles.

Calvary Baptist's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Wilson, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 17 points along with eight assists and three steals. The contest was Wilson's eighth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cannon Hargrave, who posted 14 points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Covenant Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 18 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Calvary Baptist, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-5.

Coming up, Covenant Christian will take on Faith Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary Baptist does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
