The Milan Indians will challenge the South Ripley Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Milan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Milan took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Switzerland County a 10-0 shutout. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Pacers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Kynadee Bode made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Emma Voss was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Caroline McMillan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, South Ripley entered their tilt with Jac-Cen-Del on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Eagles. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Ellie Combs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Taylor Jordan, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Clowers, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
South Ripley's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Milan, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.
South Ripley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Milan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. It's a different story for South Ripley, though, as they've only averaged .353. Will they be able to contain Milan's hitters?
Milan took their victory against South Ripley in their previous matchup last Monday by a conclusive 17-1 score. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
