Baseball Recap: Argonaut Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Argonaut came into Tuesday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Ripon Indians 3-2.

Marcus Scaife was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Argonaut: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least three hits, but 2-8 otherwise.

Scaife wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Teravskis, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Argonaut's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Ripon, their record now sits at 8-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Argonaut will face off against Venture Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Venture Academy's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Argonaut's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ripon, they will square off against Escalon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
