It was a good run, but Monte Vista unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to Pagosa Springs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Monte Vista of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Monte Vista started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-21.

Their offense was headlined by Evie Hinds and Reagan Futrell, who picked up six kills apiece. Hinds really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 15. Madison Henderhan controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Pagosa Springs can attribute much of their success to Amber Snarr, who had 11 digs. Kaila Limebrook also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Monte Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Pagosa Springs, their victory ended a nine-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monte Vista will host Del Norte at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pagosa Springs, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Centauri at 6:30 p.m.
