Volleyball Game Preview: Grand Valley Cardinals vs. North Fork Miners

The Grand Valley Cardinals will square off against the North Fork Miners at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Grand Valley has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since September 20.

Grand Valley lost 3-0 to Plateau Valley on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-10, 25-13.

Meanwhile, North Fork had just enough and edged out Montezuma-Cortez 3-2 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Miners.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (104-101) North Fork actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-21, 15-13.

North Fork's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Grand Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.

Grand Valley might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from North Fork in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Cardinals, Madison Nelson (who had six digs, four aces, and one block) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
