Basketball Recap: Hearts Academy Panthers vs. Rocket City Falcons
Hearts Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-54 victory over the Rocket City Falcons .
Rocket City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Goodwin, who went 5 for 11 en route to 14 points plus eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was JJ Minnon, who posted eight points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Hearts Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oak Mountain Academy on November 16th. Rocket City has already played their next game, a 52-48 victory against HALO on the 1st.
