Soccer Recap: Rockingham County Beats Morehead for Their Third Straight Victory

Rockingham County won the last time they faced Morehead and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rockingham County Cougars put the hurt on the Morehead Panthers with a sharp 7-1 win. Fans of the Cougars have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

Their offense was hitting Morehead from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Bella Shearer led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

The victory (which was Rockingham County's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Morehead, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rockingham County will take on Reidsville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Morehead, they will challenge North Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Morehead's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
