Baseball Recap: Lower Moreland Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lower Moreland and Springfield Township meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Lions came up short against the Spartans, falling 16-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.

Lower Moreland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Blumhardt, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Lower Moreland has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Springfield Township, their record is now 4-1.

While Lower Moreland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
