Volleyball Recap: Durango Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Bishop Gorman

Durango faced Bishop Gorman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Trailblazers lost 3-0 to the Gaels. The loss continues a trend for the Trailblazers in their meetings with the Gaels: they've now lost eight in a row.

Maya Dominguez paced Durango's offense, picking up ten kills. Dominguez got some help from Aracelli Hernandez and her 19 assists. Grace Gonsalves controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Sienna Gostanian was the offensive standout of the contest as she had eight digs and five aces. Those five aces gave her a new career-high.

Durango's defeat dropped their record down to 16-16. As for Bishop Gorman, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 26-8.

Coming up, Durango will take on Arbor View at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bishop Gorman, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Coronado on the 16th.
