Basketball Recap: Avoca Central Comes Up Short

Avoca Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 73-63 to the Genesee Valley Jaguars. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2020.

Avoca Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Genesee Valley, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Avoca Central Tigers take on the Andover Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Genesee Valley, they will host Honeoye at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Honeoye knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Genesee Valley likes a good challenge.
