Preview: North Valleys Panthers vs. Lowry Buckaroos
North Valleys is 0-10 against Lowry since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The North Valleys Panthers will face off against the Lowry Buckaroos at TBD. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (North Valleys is ranked 19th, while Lowry is ranked eighth).
North Valleys had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 65-54 win over Elko on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what North Valleys needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.
Ivy Williams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexys DeCremer, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine assists.
Meanwhile, Lowry unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Fernley by a score of 58-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
North Valleys is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Lowry, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-6.
North Valleys took a serious blow against Lowry when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 63-36. Can North Valleys avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
