There's no place like home for Tucker County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 50-43 victory over the Mountain Ridge Miners on Friday. Given the Mountain Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 42nd in West Virginia, while the Miners are ranked 143rd in Maryland) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tucker County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Cummings, who posted 14 points. Mikey Mitchell was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Mountain Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Breighner, who shot 42% from the field en route to 15 points and six boards. That was a full 34.9% of the Miners' points, marking the third time in a row Breighner has put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Levi Clise, who scored nine points.

Tucker County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points over those games. As for Mountain Ridge, they dropped their record down to 5-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Tucker County will be playing in front of their home fans against Elkins at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Mountain Ridge, they will venture away from home to square off against Northern Garrett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
