St. James Academy entered their tilt with Shawnee Mission West on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 2-0. The Thunder have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Madeline Elter paced St. James Academy's offense, picking up ten kills. Elter got some help from Ellen Dorsey and her 20 assists. Brooke Beashore controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

St. James Academy's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Shawnee Mission West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. St. James Academy will venture away from home to challenge Blue Valley Northwest on Saturday. As for Shawnee Mission West, they will head out to take on Olathe North at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
