Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Boulder City

While Boulder City put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Blue Knights. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the game before.

Rhiley Beck made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Hayden Nordstrom and Emma Puckett did most of the damage at the plate: Nordstrom went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Puckett went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Puckett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton Rogers, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Boulder City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .815. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win (which was Boulder City's third in a row) raised their record to 11-13. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Boulder City will take on Basic at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, they will square off against Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
