Volleyball Recap: Coronado Falls to Air Academy in First Game of Season

Coronado unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Air Academy Kadets on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Coronado was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Air Academy work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 26-24, 25-15.

Sophie Salyers paced Coronado's offense, picking up six kills. Salyers got some help from Alexi Arnell and her nine assists.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coronado will challenge Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Air Academy, they will face off against Pueblo West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
