Basketball Recap: Central Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Northside last Friday, Central came back down to earth. The Central Lions took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Griffin Bears on Tuesday. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Central lost, don't look at Khaven Cochran. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 18 on his way to 23 points and three steals. Cochran has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Connor Williams, who posted six points along with ten boards and four blocks.

Central's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-4. As for Griffin, they pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Central Lions face off against the Harris County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central is facing Harris County at the right time seeing as Harris County is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. Griffin has already played their next contest (against Jonesboro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
