Baseball Recap: Roscommon Bucks vs. Evart Wildcats

Roscommon had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-8 to make it six. They lost 12-1 to the Evart Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 on Tuesday.

As for Evart, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.

For Evart's part, Lucas Johnson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Johnson has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Dryson Derscheid was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Sean Jackson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
