Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ponchatoula). They put the hurt on the Hammond Tornadoes with a sharp 23-1 win on Tuesday. The Green Wave might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Sierra Bess, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Dagro, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Bess wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Ponchatoula kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.
