Preview: Adair Warriors vs. Nowata Ironmen
Adair is 7-0 against Nowata since October of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Adair Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Nowata Ironmen at 7:00 p.m. Adair is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
Even though Pawhuska scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, Adair still came out on top. Adair narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Pawhuska 65-62.
Adair got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cale Winfrey out in front who threw for 372 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.3 yards per attempt, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Reece Jackson was another key contributor, gaining 162 total yards and three touchdowns.
Nowata can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They managed a 20-16 victory over Salina. The win was just what Nowata needed coming off of a 49-0 loss in their prior match.
Adair's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.5 points per game. As for Nowata, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Adair against Nowata in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 44-14 victory. Will Adair repeat their success, or does Nowata have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
