Baseball Recap: Lincoln East Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Lincoln East won against Lincoln Southwest on Wednesday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Spartans beat the Papillion-LaVista Monarchs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-1. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Monarchs: they've now won five in a row.

Jack Ohler tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Troy Peltz was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Tanner Peterson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Lincoln East pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Papillion-LaVista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.
