Baseball Recap: Hansberry Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bogan, Hansberry was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Comer Catamounts by a score of 7-4. The win continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Catamounts: they've now won four in a row.

Omare Crowder made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Derrick Campbell was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. M. J Alston was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

Hansberry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hansberry's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Hansberry will square off against Thornton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Comer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
