Baseball Recap: St. Thomas Academy Victorious

St. Thomas Academy had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 5-5 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Rocori Spartans 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cadets have posted since May 19, 2025.

As for Rocori, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Rocori's part, Nolan VanLoy made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Thomas Academy will take on Hill-Murray at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rocori, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Becker at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
