Baseball Recap: Oxford Extends Winning Streak to Four

Oxford posted their closest victory since February 27th on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Glenbrook South Titans 7-5. Winning may never get old, but the Yellow Jackets sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Reid Maniscalco was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hudson Gilman, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Ayden Noyola was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Oxford's record is now 17-7. As for Glenbrook South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
