Volleyball Recap: Soroco Turns Things Around After Road Loss + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Soroco, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the North Park Wildcats on Friday as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Saturday.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-22, 26-24.

Soroco found their leader in sophomore Ellie Carolus, who had 14 digs. Those 14 digs set a new season-high mark for Carolus. Lily Truitt also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

North Park's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aubrey Baugh, who had 11 digs and one assist, and Brooklynn Weber, who had ten digs and two assists.

Soroco is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for North Park, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-12.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Soroco is set to square off against their familiar foe Vail Christian at 6:00 p.m. on October 9. Meanwhile, North Park will take on rival De Beque at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
