Baseball Recap: Las Cruces Triumphs

Las Cruces had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 12-9 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Alamogordo Tigers 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldawgs have posted against the Tigers since April 20, 2023.

Las Cruces gave Gunnar Guardiola the start and clearly made the right call: he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave Guardiola a new career-high.

At the plate, Aaron Alvarado was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Amaro, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

As for Alamogordo, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered against Las Cruces since April 20, 2023.

On Alamogordo's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kade Kiss, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Las Cruces will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
