Softball Game Preview: Norwalk Bears vs. Bethel Wildcats

The Norwalk Bears will head out to take on the Bethel Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Bethel took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Norwalk, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Norwalk beat Pomperaug 4-1.

Maddie Collins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Emily Restaino was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three doubles and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Maddy Yusi, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Bethel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 15-6 to Danbury.

Norwalk took their win against Bethel when the teams last played back in April of 2018 by a conclusive 14-2 score. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
