Preview: Morro Bay Pirates vs. San Luis Obispo Classical Academy Grizzlies
The Morro Bay Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the San Luis Obispo Classical Academy Grizzlies at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Monday, everything went Morro Bay's way against King City as Morro Bay made off with a 59-38 victory.
Morro Bay can attribute much of their success to Justin Campbell, who scored 19 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Campbell has scored at least 25% of Morro Bay's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sergio Mendoza, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Shandon 61-24 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-4.
The victory got Morro Bay back to even at 1-1. As for San Luis Obispo Classical Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Morro Bay was able to grind out a solid win over San Luis Obispo Classical Academy in their previous meeting back in February, winning 54-45. Does Morro Bay have another victory up their sleeve, or will San Luis Obispo Classical Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
