Hobart and Kankakee Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Brickies will face off against the Kougars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kankakee Valley took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hobart, who comes in off a win.
Hobart is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Merrillville 21-3 on Monday. The Brickies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Hobart got a great performance from Allie Snider as she tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave Snider a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
On the hitting side, Addi Gaffin was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. What's more, she posted three runs, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Kylie Bulatovich was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
Hobart kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Merrillville only managed eight hits.
Meanwhile, Kankakee Valley entered their contest against Lowell on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Kougars fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 5-4. The Kougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kankakee Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Hanger, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Kankakee Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Hobart, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hobart hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Kankakee Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hobart might still be hurting after the 11-4 loss they got from Kankakee Valley when the teams last played on April 10th. Can the Brickies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
