Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Aubrey Crockett and Makayla Hatcher Lead Westfield to Victory

Westfield saw some tournament action on Friday. They snuck past the NorthWood Panthers with a 38-33 victory.

Westfield was led to victory by Makayla Hatcher and Aubrey Crockett. Hatcher posted 15 points and four steals, while Crockett earned ten points and six assists. The dominant performance gave Hatcher a new career-high in points.

Despite the loss, NorthWood still got an impressive performance from Claire Payne, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 16 points along with six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Branham, who put up six points and seven rebounds.

Westfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for NorthWood, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-2.

Westfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-32 win against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger on the 27th. As for NorthWood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-27 defeat against Penn on the 27th.
