Elyria Catholic is 2-7 against Holy Name since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Elyria Catholic will face off against Holy Name at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (Elyria Catholic has three wins , while Holy Name has four dating back to last season).

Elyria Catholic proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Norwalk, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since April 18, 2024.

Harper Morgan spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Elyria Catholic got a big performance out of Lillian Ciryak, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. Paytin Baehr was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Holy Name gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 13-10 win over Westlake.

However, it's not like Holy Name struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
