Basketball Game Preview: Cony Rams vs. Brewer Witches

The Cony Rams will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Brewer Witches at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cony is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Cony is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Camden Hills, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Cony was ranked 13th). Cony came out on top against Camden Hills by a score of 54-47 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Brewer won against Skowhegan on Monday with 52 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Brewer walked away with a 52-40 victory over Nokomis. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Witches.

Brewer's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Cony, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Cony beat Brewer 48-37 when the teams last played back in February. Does Cony have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brewer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
