Norman has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Mustang Broncos at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Norman has not done well against Deer Creek recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Norman walked away with a 2-0 win over Deer Creek. After a 5-3 finish the last time they played, Norman and Deer Creek decided to play a little more cautiously this time around.
Meanwhile, Mustang came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Redhawks.
Mustang was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Jake Rother and
Wyatt Karber, who scored both of Mustang's goals. Those were goals were season-firsts for both players.
Norman pushed their record up to 4-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Mustang, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
