Baseball Game Preview: Ballard Beavers vs. Bishop Blanchet Bears

The Ballard Beavers will take on the Bishop Blanchet Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Blanchet took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Ballard, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Ballard needed a bit of extra time to put away Roosevelt. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Roughriders. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since June 7, 2021, but that streak is no more.

Truitt Madonna was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Madonna was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Brady Miailovich was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Dylan Wallblom was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Ballard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Bishop Blanchet came up short against Ingraham on Friday, falling 8-1. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by exactly seven runs.

Ballard's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Bishop Blanchet, they dropped their record down to 7-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Ballard came out on top in a nail-biter against Bishop Blanchet when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Beavers repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
