Baseball Game Preview: University School Preppers vs. Wapakoneta Redskins

The University School Preppers will face off against the Wapakoneta Redskins at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as University School comes in on five and Wapakoneta on four.

University School is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy a 2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Preppers have posted since May 14th.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy's batters probably weren't too happy with Crew Bellan, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up two walks).

On the hitting side, University School saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Nelson, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Wapakoneta sidestepped St. Francis de Sales for a 6-5 victory.

Jarrett Mullen was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

University School's win bumped their record up to 28-6. As for Wapakoneta, their victory bumped their record up to 21-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. University School has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wapakoneta struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
