Baseball Recap: Handley Triumphs

While Handley's win against White Plains wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 7-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

The team relied heavily on Ben Pike, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. He also brought in three RBI, which is notable because Handley is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 9-10 otherwise. Cordan Patterson was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Handley's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for White Plains, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Handley will challenge Randolph County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Randolph County will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Handley surely won't give up without a fight. As for White Plains, they will host Cleburne County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
