Basketball Game Preview: Hanover Hornets vs. Otis Bulldogs

The Hanover Hornets will face off against the Otis Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Saturday, Hanover lost to Kit Carson at home by a 41-27 margin. While the Hornets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 9-5 in the first quarter.

Hanover's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Junior Diaz, who posted 14 points along with six steals and five boards, and Tyler Decker, who put up eight points and eight steals. Hanover is 8-1 when Diaz posts five or more steals, but 4-8 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Otis came tearing into Saturday's match with 16 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.6 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Bison 59-38. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 21 points or more this season.

Hanover dropped their record down to 12-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Otis, their victory bumped their record up to 19-2.
